Welcome to Berjaya Dockyard (Sibu)

We are one of the largest drydock in East Malaysia

We Are

Berjaya Dockyard (Sibu) Sdn. Bhd. (749571-D) is recognized as one of Southeast Asia’s dynamic and fast growing shipbuilders with a reputation for building vessels of the highest quality, safety and reliability since its inception in 2013.

Situated only 40km from the mouth of Rajang River with natural deep anchorage (9 meter), Berjaya Dockyard (Sibu) provides a safe berthing place for large ocean-going vessels. She is also strategically located from Tanjung Manis Airport in about 25km and only 7.2km from Tanjung Manis Integrated Port Sdn. Bhd., and good connectively by roads and waterways to central region of Sarawak, i.e. Sarikei, Bintangor and Sibu.

We specialized in the construction of high-performance utility vessels such as landing crafts, workboats and multi-purpose tugs for the local and international shipping, offshore oil and gas industries.

Shipbuilding

Our shipyard at Tanjung Manis, occupying about 43,500 sqm in yard area, has state-of-the-art facilities to build vessels up to 100 metres in length and 5,000 DWT per vessel.

Berjaya Dockyard (Sibu) is outfitted with modern facilities and equipment to ensure comprehensive support at all times.

Our yard facilities: 21,408 sqm open fabrication area, 4,135.5 sqm covered workshop, 30-metre long jetty. It is also fully equipped with gantry cranes (total 100-tonne lifting capacity), crawler cranes (up to 80-tonne lifting capacity), and two CNC cutting machines.

We keep our yard facilities and operations in tip-top condition through regular upgrading and maintenance.

New Division - Ship Repairing

In 2016, we had acquired the adjacent land with additional area of 43,400 sqm for our strategic expansion of ship repairing division.

In June 2016, we started constructing one graving dock with 150m length x 50m breath x 9.0m depth. The dry dock will accommodate maximum capacity of up to 30,000 DWT per vessel and is geared with four units of 10 ton each towing winches and one unit of 30 ton rowing winch. We have targeted that our ship repairing division will start operating in 2019 when the dry dock facilities are ready.

There are no dedicated modern graving dock facilities in East Malaysia region and while a rudimentary level of ship repair does take place, there is no such docking structure to the industry. When our dry dock facilities are completed and started operating in 2019, it will be one of the largest dry dock facilities in size and capacity in East Malaysia.

Our manufacturing process is in line with world-class standards and our vessels are designed and constructed to the stringent requirements of international classification societies such as Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NKK), Bureau Veritas (BV), DNV GL and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
